Letter From America!

The Ludlow Rotary Club, which runs the Ludlow Cares initiative has received a very welcome letter from its international counterpart, the Ludlow Rotary Club of Vermont, USA!

And in it was a very generous cheque amounting to $1000, which has gone straight into the Ludlow Cares fundraising coffers.

“We wish you every success with your project as we face many of the same poverty challenges in our own community and truly appreciate the importance of your efforts,” read the letter.

We wish to send our sincerest thanks and very best wishes to club President, David Almond, Municipal Manager, Frank Heald and everyone else at the Ludlow Rotary Club of Vermont. As does our Event Organiser for Ludlow Cares and fellow Rotarian, John Howick:

“One of the most powerful dimensions of The Rotary Club is its international reach. It thinks globally and acts locally,” he said. “Our event in Ludlow Shropshire has attracted the attentions of our Rotary colleagues in Ludlow, Vermont USA. Yes, they read our newspapers, check our websites and notice our local challenges and issues.

“We are thrilled to have received a cheque for $1000 from their Rotary Club which will all go directly into the Ludlow Cares Fund,” John concluded.

If you get a chance, do pop over to the US Ludlow Rotary Club’s website to see what they’ve got going on, and be sure to pop in and say hi if you’re travelling in the New England area any time soon…

Only one more week to go until the grand sleep-out!
